Established in 1874, Watts Regulator Company, as originally identified, stands
to be the "Setting The Standard In Valve Technology." In the intensifying water
quality markets of 1970’s, Watts started picking up the pace by pioneering new
products such as backflow preventers.
Today, Watts Water Technologies, Inc. has grown to become a leader for
applications in the commercial, irrigation, residential, steam and heating
supplies and fittings - valves. Product lines include: Air Valves, Pressure
Valves, Relief Valves, Tempering Valves, Backflow Preventers and RPZ Assemblies.
Watts owns and operates manufacturing facilities and distribution channels in
North America, Europe, Canada, and 2 majority controlled joint ventures in The
People's Republic of China.
Watts Air Valves
Radiators come with 2 valves- inlet valve and air valve. The air valve permits
ventilation of air from the radiator and its displacement takes place by steam.
Condensate is exhausted from the radiator in the course of the same pipe that
supplies steam. Air valves are not pricey and offer long lasting effect.
Watts Pressure Valves
Watts Pressure Valves help to eradicate extremely pump head pressure when most
radiator valves get closed due to lack of demand. Watts Pressure Valves are
perfect for applications like Radiant Panel. Its main features are:
Built-in differential pressure indicator.
Easy installation. It doesn’t require electrical hookup.
Differential pressure range.
Watts Relief Valves
The Relief Valves can be classified into two of its kinds:
Watts Internal Pump Relief Valves
Normally these pump manufacturers have an option to supply an internal relief
valve. These relief valves will temporarily relieve the pressure on the
discharge side of a pump operating against a closed valve. They cannot by pass
all the flow produced by the pump. These internal relief valves should be used
for pump protection against a temporary closing of a valve.
Watts External Relief Valve
An external relief valve (RV) installed in the discharge line with a return line
back to the supply tank is highly recommended to provide complete protection
against an unexpected over pressure situation.
Watts Tempering Valves
Tempering Valves are used in residential water supply applications to mix cold
and hot water to extend capacity of water heater storage tanks and hot water
boiler tank-less heaters. It features brass body construction, dial adjustment
cap, replaceable thermostat, stainless steel spring and is available with either
threaded or solder end connections.
Watts Backflow Preventers
A properly installed backflow preventer prevents a pure drinking water supply by
averting the contaminated water from mixing with the drinking water.
Irrigation systems not protected by approved backflow prevention assemblies
could endanger the health of a household, neighborhood or community. Some
measures can be taken to keep a check on such a dangerous situation.
One needs to ensure the right installation of backflow preventer. A backflow
preventer is a mechanism to prevent backflow, which provides a physical barrier
to backflow. The principal types of mechanical backflow preventer are the
reduced-pressure principle assembly, the pressure vacuum breaker assembly, and
the double check valve assembly. A secondary type of mechanical backflow
preventer is the residential dual check valve.
All irrigation systems, new or existing...should be equipped with an approved
backflow prevention assembly. Only properly installed, state-approved backflow
prevention assemblies meet the plumbing code and provide health protection for
family and neighbors.
